Ascension of the Lord

This reflection on the Ascension invites us to recognise the presence of Christ in ordinary days, even when it seems hidden or silent. Jesus promised to remain with us always, yet after the Ascension, His presence discreetly reveals itself: through acts of sincere love, mutual care, the faithfulness of simple people, and within a community that prays and lives the Gospel.

Faith thus becomes a new way of seeing, capable of perceiving the signs of the invisible in everyday life. Even questions and moments of hardship can become opportunities for a deeper faith.

The Gospel, however, does not merely ask us to recognise this presence, but also to bear witness to it. Jesus entrusts His disciples with the mission of bringing mercy, hope, and fraternity into the world, above all through a credible and authentic life rather than through words alone.

In a time when many people, especially the young, are searching for meaning and authenticity, Christians are called to build relationships, to welcome, to listen, and to foster communion. The Ascension, therefore, does not invite us to escape from the world, but to live our lives with our gaze lifted toward heaven and with the certainty that nothing lived in love is ever lost.
