Lent: The Strength of Fragility
The First Sunday of Lent gently reminds us that temptation is part of our daily life. We all experience moments of weakness, confusion, and struggle. Sometimes we fall. Sometimes we feel discouraged because we cannot overcome our weaknesses as quickly as we hope. Yet this Sunday invites us not to be afraid of our fragility.
Lent is not a time to prove our strength, but a time to trust more deeply in God’s love. Even when we fall again and again, God does not turn away from us. He patiently waits, ready to lift us up each time we choose to begin again. What matters most is not that we never fall, but that we keep rising with faith and humility.
This holy season is a precious opportunity to renew our hearts. We learn to recognize the temptations around us and within us. We learn to say “no” to what leads us away from love, and “yes” to what brings us closer to God. With His grace and our sincere effort, every struggle can become a step toward growth.
Today, let us ask for a trusting heart — a heart that believes in God’s faithful love, stands up after every fall, and continues walking forward with hope. Lent has begun. Let us begin again too.
