Feast of Consecrated Life - 2nd February

On 2 February, the Church remembers, in a special way, a particular portion of her Body, all those who are consecrated, not only in Baptism but also in Religious Profession.
In the Catholic Church, consecrated life refers to that form of life by which the faithful (clergy or laity, men or women) consecrate themselves in a special way to God through the profession, by public vows, of the evangelical counsels of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience. For us religious, celebrating this day means, renewing one’s dedication; Returning to the initial “YES,” rekindling one’s passion for following Jesus and the total gift of self, body and soul, in service to God and others.
Bear witness to the “Absolute Primacy of God”; Remembering the joy of a life entirely dedicated to the “Absolute”, in a world often distracted by other melodies. Celebrate the gift of service; live the vows as freedom, Poverty so as not to possess, Chastity so as to love with the heart of God, Obedience so as to seek His will. Feel part of the Church and give thanks for the wonders God has accomplished in our life, bringing light like Mary when she presented Jesus in the Temple.
Eventually, for us nuns, this feast is an invitation to a joyful conversion and to bear witness, with our own life, to self-sacrificing love in the service of others.
