Vietnam
With the permission of Bishop Joseph Nguyễn Tấn Tước of the Diocese of Phú Cường and the support of MF priests, the SMF Vietnam community was officially founded in 2023. This marked the beginning of our mission in Vietnam, founded on faith, love, and service. On October 7, 2023, Father Joseph Phan Trọng Quang, MF, blessed the new community with a joyful and grace-filled celebration.
The Mother General of the SMF Congregation was present for this special occasion and presided over the sending forth of the two pioneer sisters: Sister Anna Rosa Nguyễn Thị Huyền Trân, SMF, and Sister Clara, SMF. With deep faith and missionary spirit, they became the first members to lay the foundation for the SMF presence in Vietnam.
In January 2025, Sr. Anna Maria Nguyễn Thị Hảo, SMF, was officially appointed as the third member of the SMF Vietnam community. Her presence brings additional strength and joy to the growing mission as the sisters continue their journey of faith and service together.
The SMF Vietnam community is located in Thủ Dầu Một, in the province of Bình Dương, within the diocese of Phú Cường. We actively serve the pastoral needs of two local parishes: Bà Lụa and Phú Lợi. Our mission focuses on catechesis, vocations, and spiritual accompaniment of young people, and we actively participate in Caritas activities, particularly in favor of the poor, people with disabilities, and ethnic minority communities.
With trust in Divine Providence, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Mother Mary, we continue to build this young community with dedication, simplicity, and love, following the charism of our congregation: to live and proclaim the faith through service and witness.
