A Vital Monthly Recollection
For the Missionary Sisters of Faith in Mynamr, participating in our community recollection is a vital pillar of our fraternal community life and ongoing spiritual formation. Although the socio-political situation remains deeply unstable, our program of nourishing the spiritual life remains constant. We persevere because the spiritual life is absolute essential for our existence; deepening our interior life means profoundly strengthening our relationship with God and with our neighbors.
Amidst numerous trials and challenges, we are continually strengthened and inspired by the grace and wisdom of God through these monthly recollections. During this sacred time, we are able to withdraw from the society, spend intimate time with the Lord, and listen attentively to His Word. Moreover, it is a grace-filled opportunity to pause our rushings steps and rest our hearts, minds, and bodies in the hands of God. When we rest wholeheartedly in Him, we gain renew spiritual strength and come to discern the will of God with greater clarity.
Besides, the recollection offers us a profound moment to acknowledge our sinfulness and receive God’s infinite mercy and forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Through a good Confession, we come to recognize anew that we are the deeply beloved children of God. It is from this fullness of Divine love that we find zeal to pour ourselves out for others. Consequently, the spiritual bond between the members of our community is purified and renewed, flowing from the love of God.
At the conclusion of our recollection, we share a fraternal meal together. This gathering is a beautiful reflection of our calling – sharing as one family and as members of the one Body of Christ. Ultimately, the fruits of these monthy recollections strengthen both our individual vocations and our communal life, firmly anchoring us in the bond of Divine charity.
We are filled with gratitude to share this spiritual custom. It is a beautiful opportunity for us to gather in communion and discover anew how deeply God loves us day by day. Just as our physical bodies require food for nourishment, our souls depend entirely on God for spiritual sustenance. Amidst the current instability, we place our hope in Divine Providence, praying that we may always have the opportunity to step away, rest in God’s presence, and grow closer to one another.
