Pilgrimage with young students – A testimony by Sr Malia Ah Mu, Smf
Taking part in this pilgrimage alongside the young students was a deeply meaningful experience for us.
Right from the start of the journey, we sensed in the young people a great desire to engage in dialogue and to listen. Many of them are going through the delicate transition to adulthood, grappling with questions about the future, life choices and their place in the world.
As nuns, we sought to be a simple and unobtrusive presence, characterised by listening, prayer and closeness. Walking together, side by side, created a space of trust in which the young people felt free to share their thoughts, struggles and hopes.
Particularly moving were the moments of prayer and reflection led by Bishop Gerardo, during which an atmosphere of contemplation and authenticity prevailed. The Word touched many hearts, helping the young people to see their own journey more clearly.
We carry the beauty of this gathering in our hearts: not merely a pilgrimage, but an experience of the living Church, in which different generations came together and accompanied one another.
We return home enriched by the young people’s witness and by the joy of having shared with them an important stage of their life’s journey.
