May: the month dedicated to Mary

In Christian tradition, the month of May is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, a central figure of faith and a model of attentiveness, trust, and simplicity.

Mary accompanies us as a discreet yet profound presence: in her “yes”, recounted in the Gospel according to Luke, we find an example of openness to God’s plan and a willingness to embrace what we do not always fully understand. It is an invitation for us too, to live our daily choices with greater awareness.

In a time so often marked by haste and noise, the month of May becomes an opportunity to rediscover the value of silence, prayer, and simplicity. Marian traditions — such as the recitation of the Rosary or the small acts of devotion in homes and communities — help us to create spaces of recollection and inner peace.

Looking to Mary, we learn that true strength lies not in being seen, but in faithfully cherishing what truly matters. May this month be for everyone a time of reflection, of trust, and of renewed hope.
